Leaving on a jet plane!

In all honesty, I haven't been okay. I've been busy with so many things and offerring for everything, wanting to do everything and anything and in the whole hecticness of it, I seem to have forgotten about the most basic and yet essential thing which is rest. And somehow, I seemed to have lost myself in the craziness of life.

I've been doing everything and anything and as Sis Shufen says, I've been spreading myself and my time out too thin that in the end, the results that I get from what I do are only very superficial and not in depth because I don't have the time to delve deeper into the things I commit myself too.

This whole year, I've been busy with school, debate, skating, church commitments, family, friends and b@s and in the end I didnt have time to rest and now as the year is coming to an end, I feel so burned and so worn out. And as I start to look forward to next year, I daren't even look. I spent last night thinking about O levels, about next year and the future and I was so darn scared that I started crying. And I realised that its because I've been relying too much on myself, and I forgot that it's Gods strength that I need. And that I've been looking at tomorrow wtih my own eyes and not through God's pla which is why I was scared shit. (Pardon the language, but its cos of the lack of better choice of words) Thank you, Gideon Goh for helping me to realise that! I really appreciate it and I know that I didnt make things easy for you, but thank you very very much! And like you said, breakthrough will come and breakthrough came.

I was sending my maid off to the airport for her holiday home and then God spoke through the songs that were playing in the car and I was crying the whole ride home because I realised how painful it is when you do everything by yourself and I finally realised that I cannot do it on my own and that I need God.

Right now, I cannot say that I do not fear the future holds. I am still afraid, I am still worried, but I've learnt and Im learning how to commit it into God's hands once again. I'll be flying off to Europe on Thurs. It will be a good break there, a good time to spend TAWG. I hope that there, I will find myself again.

(Oh and please do not call or sms me unnecessarily after Thurs midnight! People somehow love to call & sms me a lot when Im away!)

Hello world! I know I havent been updating and Deannosaur asked me to post (last week) so here I am! I've been busy with B@S (Finals this Saturday!), skating and post exams enrichments the past few weeks and really, there's nothing that exciting to post about until a few days back.

So on Tues, we had an enrichment called Career Quest and you can pretty much tell by the name what it is about. It wasn't exciting considering that I fell asleep but I realised after the enrichment that maybe, I dont really know what I want to be when I grow up. I always thought that when I grow up, I shall do law because thats what I thought I want to do, maybe because law is known to be a high paying job. But after Career Quest, Im not so sure anymore. Im not sure if it is really what I want. If I want to go through the many years of law and discover that maybe that is not what I really want. Though part of me still insists that I want it. I'm not even sure if I want to go to a JC anymore! I suddenly feel so displaced after Career Quest. Honestly, I just want to do something that I like, that will make me happy, you know? Even as idealistic and naive as I am, I know that it is impossible because life isnt really that simple anymore. It's all about the number game. In school, its about getting the highest marks in tests and the lowest points for O levels. In the working world, its about earning the highest pay with the most zeroes at the back. Or maybe, hopefully, I'm wrong and that its possible to do what you're happy with as long as you're contented!

Ding Xue Er, call me soon okay! I have a lot a lot of things to tell you- happy stuff, funny stuff, sad stuff and cool stuff (: I miss you truckloaads!

Okay, so I just posted to rant a little. But on a happier note!

Got a new haircut! I'm still getting used to it, but its good cos I dont have to tie my hair in the mornings and it's a nice change. I like Nina's hair! (Joe Jonasss!) HAHA.

Even though the rink's closed, and I will miss seeing people like Shihui, Qi En, Su, Max, Arthur, Rong Xing and the other tuesday & wed skaters, we had a lot of fun at the farewell party and the day before!

Now, I've got a pair of new skates (!), a new rink and I'm waiting for my new coach! How exciting! I really am looking forward to breaking into my new pair of skates (I managed to do a good loop with my new skates, so Im v. happy!) , finding the ball (of my foot) on my new blades and starting prep for Nationals next year! Awesomeness!

I was originally supposed to leave on my birthday so that I can celebrate my birthday on the plane, and I was so upset when the travel agency cancelled it! Bah. But Im still going to the same place, just a few days later, sooo! I will still have to learn french, spanish and german and all the languages from Krit!

EOYs ended on Monday (surprisingly it didnt feel like such a big deal when it was over)
My 2 crazy Dope and Noob helped me to look forward to end of EOYs. Studying with Dope at Starbucks, Macs, Subway and the glass room at my place was productive and fun. We had nice frappe, bubble tea and we saw a 'cock-roach' as she pronounces it.
During EOYs studied with neighbour too! (: We freaked out for SS together, we went to Beauty World to eat good food, study and plan where to get hoilday jobs, and we listened to _ songs and laughed a lot. Haha. Fun.

ZOMG. ONLY 2 MORE PAPERS TO GO!

I cannot wait for Monday when EOYs are over, with the last two papers being Bio & English. On Monday this time, I will be at D's or going to catch the late night movies, but same difference, I'll be with dope & noob (: (: STONE DOPE NOOB MOVIE MARATHON CUM SLEEPOVER So exciting! Then its Meg Cabot, and the Mama Mia with Char Smells Jien (HAHA, intially I wanted to put smells jien char but i realised that if i put char smells jien, it'd be like.. you know!) AND THEN I WILL BE SKATING, FINALLY. I HAVENT SKATED IN A GAZILLION YEARS. I totally can feel my muscles turning into fats already, so wasted! I really would have skated today, but I was soo tired after Physics considering I woke up at 4 plus this morning. So I will spend the whole of next week skating and skating and spending time with my lovely lovely friends. Yay (:

10 tell tale signs that you're becoming a nerd

Since its the examination period now, I thought this will be helpful in gauging where you are in the nerd-o-meter (as determined by my standards, so its accuracy is up to you decide!) and then you'll know when its time to chill a lil. Pardon the colour coding cos I wanted to do it in shades, but I dont have very good colour sense, haha!

Level 1: When you own assessment books for all your subjects and they're not blank!

Level 2: When books have become your constant companion. By books, I dont mean chic lit or novels, I mean textbooks that pass the hundred page mark.

Level 3: When the only smses you send/ receive + calls you make/get all have to do with the exams. Be it well wishes or wondering how to do questions.

Level 4: When you have to constantly buy new pens because your pens have run out of ink from writing notes and doing assessments!

Level 5: When you dont go out anymore and the only time you go out is to buy stationary from Popular or to meet people to study.

Level 6: When you take a break from skating at the risk of losing your spins which you just got! and your jumps just to have more time to study.

Level 7: When you go online not with an aim to blog or for frivolous things but to find answers to your questions and to study. And you have a list of websites that are helpful for different subjects + notes & practices thick enough to compile into a book! Honest. My maid went into my room and she said, "whoa, are you selling paper!"

Level 8: When you stay up overnight during the weekends to study and you can do Amath & Chem through the night. I totally beat my record of staying up till 9.30 in the morning last year. This year's record was staying up last Saturday (mugging Chem and A math) and only napping on Sunday at the National Library because I was too tired.

Level 9: When you let your books have your bed and you sleep on the pull out bed instead.

Level 10: When F1 reminds you of polynomials & factor theormem in Amath. You know, let f(x) = something. And then for when x-1 is a factor or you let x =1, f(1), haha. (My amath is not that bad right! haha. Polynomials is my favourite!) Basically, this level is when you start seeing what you learn in mudane everyday life things. E.g when you're sitting in a restaurant having lunch, you happen to look across the table at glass and you notice the straw looks 'bent' because of refraction. Or when you get a cut and the first thought is that thrombokinase is released o convert prothrombin into thrombin which catalyses fibrinogen to form fibrin which helps the cut to clot. Seriously!

But apparently my nerd-o-meter is not accurate because I took a nerd quiz online and the results are:

Yes, I actually took a nerd quiz as dumb as it might be. But I was surprised that such things exist cause I googled it after typing the levels and I actually found such quizzes! They even give you certs and diplomas which I couldnt earn! Dang. Haha.

Im feeling quite happy now (: 9 papers down already! 5 more left! And the 2 important papers out of the five are physics and bio. And then in exactly 1 week, EOYs will be over! I wont say much about how the papers went because they're over, sooo. But as I told andrew the other time, this EOYs will be last time I wont do welll! So next year will be better! Much better!

The first thing I will do after the last paper will be to come home and sleep. I never really had very defined eyebags (or I just never noticed it) until yesterday. poooff.
